A BATH FULL OF ROMANCE AND SYMBOLISM
Drawing your loved one a bath on Valentine's Day and adding gorgeous flowers to the water is more than just a romantic gesture - it will create a deeper connection between you and your partner. This is because flowers provide a hefty dose of scent, colour, romance and symbolism. Who could resist in the face of such romantic power?!
The scent and symbolism of red roses is probably familiar to you, but did you know that the colourful flame lily symbolises passion and fiery energy, and that the citrusy aroma of skimmia will add a touch of freshness to your bathing?
here's how to create the ultimate romantic bath with flowers
Can't wait to set your valentine on fire? Here's what you need for a romantic bath filled with flowers:
- Your valentine's favourite winter flowers. In our example, we used skimmia, rose, flame lily, hyacinth and chrysanthemum, among others.
- Tea lights or candles for a romantic atmosphere
- Optional: a few drops of essential oil for in the bath water (it's better not to use bubble bath or bath oil to extend the life of the flowers)
- Optinal: a romantic playlist to set the mood
how to extend the life of your flowers
Ready to hop out of the bath? This doesn't spell the end of the romance and floral beauty you've created. Place the flowers in shallow bowls of water, or use the flowers to create a living work of art. You could also dry the flowers, to enable you to enjoy them for months afterwards. What a great memory of a fabulous Valentine's Day!
